Event restrictions in 9 districts of Ankara: No weddings or concerts on these dates

The Ankara Governor's Office has issued a circular regarding security measures ahead of the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit to be held in the city on July 7-8. Within the scope of the circular, a decision has been made to restrict public events in certain districts of the capital.

According to the decision, exams, symposiums, panels, graduation ceremonies, festivals, concerts, entertainment, and similar public activities cannot be held in Altındağ, Çankaya, Etimesgut, Gölbaşı, Keçiören, Mamak, Pursaklar, Sincan, and Yenimahalle between July 6-12.

In the Governor's Office statement, it was noted that wedding-like events in areas outside of sensitive zones are not directly within the scope of the ban. However, permission must be obtained from district governorates for events to be held in sensitive zones.

It was reported that security measures will be increased to the highest level across Ankara throughout the summit schedule. It was noted that the restrictions are part of the security measures taken due to the international meeting.
