Executives from 6 Super Lig teams detained in betting investigation! Names have been revealed...

A significant development has occurred within the scope of the "betting" investigation that has been on the agenda in Turkish football for a long time.

A new operation was carried out this morning as part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

DETENTION ORDERS FOR 33 PEOPLE

Following investigations, detention orders were issued for 33 suspects who were determined to have betting accounts and were found to have placed bets in favor of opposing teams in certain matches played by the clubs they manage. The detention orders for the suspects were issued under Article 11 of Law No. 6222 on the Prevention of Violence and Disorder in Sports.

32 PEOPLE APPREHENDED, 1 PERSON SOUGHT

Simultaneous raids were conducted on 33 addresses identified in 10 different provinces, with the operation centered in Istanbul. While 32 suspects were apprehended and detained during the operations, it was reported that search efforts for one person are ongoing.

Meanwhile, the identities of the suspects within the scope of the investigation have emerged. The suspects Abdullah Sancak from Adana Demirspor,Adem Başbilen from Ankaragücü, Ahmet Topdağ from Yeni Malatyaspor,Aytaç Altay and Bahadır Haktanır from Antalyaspor, Gaziantep FKfrom Bilal Çeker, Kayserisporfrom Çetin Katırcı. Burhan Serkan Kalmaz from Adana Demirspor,Caner Tuna from Bodrumspor, Cem Koç and Cesur Burak Akar from Antalyaspor,Enes Memiş from Göztepe, Fatih Çelik from Hatayspor,and Gökhan Karakuş from Konyaspor, are among those taken into custody.The investigation continues. STATEMENT FROM THE CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office also issued a written statement regarding the investigation.

The statement included the following:

"Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, known to the public as 'BETTING-MATCH FIXING IN FOOTBALL,' as a result of the investigation into executives of football clubs competing in professional football leagues; it was determined that 33 suspects, who were found to have betting accounts and were specifically identified as having placed bets on opposing teams during football matches between the team they manage and another team, are being investigated under Law No. 6222 on PREVENTION OF VIOLENCE AND DISORDER IN SPORTS"

On February 20, 2026, search and seizure operations were carried out simultaneously at 33 different addresses across 10 provinces, centered in Istanbul, based on allegations of violating Article 11 of the Law on the Prevention of Illegal Betting. As a result of the operation, 32 suspects were apprehended, and search efforts for the remaining 1 suspect are ongoing. Meticulous work continues uninterrupted in line with the determined fight against match-fixing allegations in Turkish football and the crime of illegal betting, which is a festering wound for society.
