Exemption regulation for table egg exports
All egg exports to be carried out within the scope of the Turkish Armed Forces, foreign missions, and humanitarian aid will be exempt from the support and price stabilization fund deduction, which is applied at 1.5 dollars per kilogram.
The Presidential Decree regarding the matter has been published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force.
In a statement made by the Ministry of Trade on the subject, it was emphasized that the bird flu outbreak experienced in the last quarter of 2024 significantly reduced egg production, and the increasing domestic demand created upward pressure on prices.
Recalling that a support and price stabilization fund of 0.5 dollars per kilogram began to be applied to table egg exports on February 25 in order to make citizens' access to eggs at affordable prices sustainable, the statement included the following expressions:
"However, upon the continuation of price increases in the domestic market, this deduction was increased to 1.5 dollars on March 25.
On the other hand, the fact that supply has started to increase again, the weak domestic demand for 'small' eggs under 53 grams obtained from new flocks, and the sector's demands for the resumption of organic egg exports were evaluated by the Ministry, and in this direction, within the framework of the relevant decision, it was evaluated that all egg exports to be carried out within the scope of the Turkish Armed Forces, foreign missions, and humanitarian aid could be exempted from the fund deduction, and the necessary regulation has been made."
In the statement, it was stated that as the Ministry, all policy tools will continue to be implemented decisively in cooperation with relevant institutions in the coming period in order to ensure food supply and security, maintain price stability, and prevent speculative movements.
