Expatriate surge at Kapıkule
With the start of the holiday season, expatriates traveling to Turkey from Europe by road have created a surge at the Kapıkule Border Gate.
Turkish citizens living in various European countries continue to arrive in Turkey to end their years-long longing and reunite with their families.
With the start of the holiday season, a surge has occurred at the border gates in Edirne, primarily at the Kapıkule Border Gate opening to Bulgaria, as well as at the Hamzabeyli, Pazarkule, and İpsala border gates.
In the last three weeks alone, approximately 620 thousand expatriates have entered Turkey through the border gates in Edirne. The highest density is being experienced at the Kapıkule Border Gate.
