Barış Terkoğlu claimed that a second wave of operations is expected in line with the testimonies of the suspects.
12 SUSPECTS POINT TO OTHER NAMES
Barış Terkoğlu highlighted a notable development in the Gülistan Doku investigation, in which 12 people have been arrested so far. Stating that the arrested suspects are pointing to other names in their testimonies, Terkoğlu said, “These 12 people are pointing to other names as well.” According to Terkoğlu, new detentions are expected in connection with these testimonies.
According to the testimonies, there is the issue of cameras located in blind spots in Tunceli being replaced immediately after the incident. According to Terkoğlu, the arrested suspects questioned the removal of the cameras. When they asked the then-Governor of Tunceli, Tuncay Sonel, about this issue, the Governor's response was striking: “This is not about me, it is about the police department,” he said. Terkoğlu stated, “This answer brings up an important question regarding the police department,” indicating that the incident has a deeper dimension within the police force.
SECOND WAVE OF OPERATIONS IS COMING
Barış Terkoğlu stated that a second wave of operations is expected in line with the testimonies of the 12 people. The suspects gave the names of certain individuals and public officials, providing signs that operations would be carried out against these people. According to the information provided by Terkoğlu, some of these individuals gave statements such as “It wasn't me, it was him” in connection with the incident. In other words, the accused individuals pointed to other people who played a role in the event.
POLICE AND BODYGUARDS ARE MENTIONED
The investigation, the inner workings of which are becoming increasingly clear, also covers high-level names in the police and state bureaucracy. Some names who served in the former Tunceli Police Department and the bodyguards of the governor at the time are also expected to be targeted within the scope of these operations. According to Terkoğlu, one bodyguard has been arrested, but the names of other bodyguards have also been mentioned, and it is stated that operations will be carried out against them.
BUREAUCRATIC NAMES AND PUBLIC OFFICIALS ALSO POINTED OUT
Barış Terkoğlu stated that the investigation also has a bureaucratic dimension. In this context, the names of the chief physician at the time and some individuals within the hospital were also mentioned. These third parties, who are public officials, are also expected to be included in the course of the investigation, and the operations are expected to cover these names.
