An expert report has been prepared regarding Fatıma Zehra Kınık, daughter of former Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay) President Kerem Kınık, who caused the death of 17-year-old Batın Barlasçeki. The report states that Kınık is 100% at fault.
An expert report has been prepared regarding Fatıma Zehra Kınık Demir, daughter of former Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay) President Kerem Kınık, who caused the death of 17-year-old Batın Barlasçeki in an accident that occurred on July 9 in Beykoz, Istanbul.
According to a report by İsmail Arı from BirGün; the report states that Fatıma Zehra Kınık Demir is 100% at fault.
The report, prepared by retired police officer İbrahim Bayşu, who serves as an expert for the Istanbul Judicial Commission at the request of Uysal Uğurlu, the lawyer for the late Batın Barlasçeki, listed the following findings:
• “Adverse conditions such as weather did not play a role in the accident…
• In the formation of this accident, Fatıma Zehra Kınık Demir, while operating the vehicle under her control, failed to obey the “STOP” sign at the end of Batın Street in the Beykoz district of Istanbul, entered the main road without waiting for vehicles coming from the main road, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Avenue, and struck a vehicle passing in front of her. Consequently, she is 100% at fault for committing the primary fault H (failure to yield at intersections) under Article 84 of the Highway Traffic Law No. 2918, as well as the fault (failure to obey traffic signs and signals) under Article 47 of the same law…”

WHAT HAPPENED?
In the accident that occurred on July 9 on Fatih Sultan Mehmet Avenue in the Kavacık neighborhood of Istanbul's Beykoz district, Fatma Zehra Kınık struck a motorcycle while exiting Baki Street onto Fatih Sultan Mehmet Avenue.
During the accident, the motorcycle driver, Yavuz Selim Öztürk, and his passenger, Batın Barlasçeki, fell from the motorcycle, and the riderless motorcycle then struck pedestrians, causing injuries. While the driver, Öztürk, survived with injuries, Barlasçeki lost his life after hitting his head on a concrete bollard on the sidewalk. The car driver, Fatma Zehra Kınık, was taken into custody and subsequently released by the court to be tried without arrest.
Recently, an indictment was prepared by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Fatma Zehra Kınık for the incident that resulted in 1 death and 4 injuries, charging her with "causing death and injury by negligence." The first hearing of the case, in which Fatma Zehra Kınık will be tried, will be held on October 30.
The indictment requests that Fatma Zehra Kınık be sentenced to between 2 and 15 years in prison for the crime of "causing death and injury by negligence."
