Expert report on the landslide at the İliç mining site completed
The expert report regarding the mining accident that occurred in İliç, Erzincan, on February 13 has been prepared. The report concludes that the project management mechanism was not maintained in a correct and functional manner and that the warning system at the mining site was inadequate.
The expert report regarding the landslide that occurred on February 13 at the gold mine site in the İliç district of Erzincan, which left 9 workers trapped under soil, has been completed.
The Public Prosecutor's Office continues its investigation into the landslide that took place at the gold mine site in the village of Çöpler.
In the 260-page expert report, which has been completed and submitted to the investigation file, it was determined that 32 additional individuals were at fault. In the report, 23 of these individuals were found to have secondary fault, while 9 were found to have primary fault.
Among those found at fault are 7 foreign nationals who held senior management positions at the company.
The report stated that the project management mechanism was not maintained in a correct and functional manner and that the warning system at the mining site was deemed inadequate.
The bodies of 4 of the 9 workers who went missing in the landslide at the gold mine site in the İliç district of Erzincan on February 13 had previously been recovered.
Within the scope of the investigation, 8 suspects, including the Canadian manager of the company operating the gold mine, I.R.G., had previously been arrested, while 2 suspects were released under judicial control conditions. The arrested suspects consist of individuals who worked in engineering, management, and administrative positions at the company.
