As the weather cools, the risk of colds is increasing. Experts emphasize the need to be cautious against COVID-19, stating, "A difficult winter awaits us."
The increase in colds as the weather cools has caused citizens to flock to hospitals. Pointing out that the number of COVID cases rose in August, Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Specialist Prof. Dr. Bülent Ertuğrul mentioned that drugs used globally are not yet available in Turkey and said, "A difficult winter awaits us."

As the autumn season makes itself felt, experts are also issuing warnings against colds.
Speaking to Hürriyet, Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Specialist Prof. Dr. Bülent Ertuğrul stated that there are also those who experience the disease quite severely. Mentioning that drugs used globally are not yet available in Turkey, Ertuğrul said, "A difficult winter awaits us," and answered the critical question.

IS COVID INCREASING?
Ertuğrul said, "COVID-19 is now always in our lives. Unfortunately, humanity has been acquainted with this disease since 2019, and the virus will always be with us until it loses its ability to make people sick through a significant mutation. There was a serious increase in the number of cases last month. This was the case both in our country and in the world. Since records are no longer announced in our country and tests are not even performed in most public hospitals, we do not know the number of patients. However, to give an example from the laboratory where I work, 4 out of 10 patients we clinically suspected of having COVID and sent samples to the laboratory were found to be positive."
