It was stated that the explosion took place in the crude oil furnace.
In the statement made, it was noted that there were no injuries in the explosion.
In the statement released by TÜPRAŞ, it was said:
"A fire occurred this evening at approximately 20:00 in one of our Crude Oil Units at our İzmir Refinery.
The unit has been shut down, and our refinery technical teams have intervened in the incident in cooperation and coordination with the relevant official units; the fire has been brought under control and extinguished.
There are no colleagues affected by the incident.
Our operations continue in our other units."
