Explosive claim from former AKP deputy: Did Erdoğan signal an operation against that sect?

Former AKP deputy Fatih Süleyman Denizolgun has made a bombshell claim regarding Diyanet Affairs President Ali Erbaş.

Denizolgun alleged that Erbaş personally blocked an operation order issued by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan against the Süleymancılar community.

In a post on his social media account, Denizolgun claimed that Erbaş told him, "Around this time last year, the Gentleman (the President) said, 'Let an operation be carried out against the community,' but I stopped it."

DIYANET RESPONDS TO THE CLAIMS

The Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) categorically denied the allegations and announced that they would initiate legal proceedings against Denizolgun. The official statement emphasized that the claims in question were baseless and included the following remarks:

"The claims that Fatih Süleyman Denizolgun attributed to Diyanet Affairs President Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, which also involve our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, are completely untrue and a product of imagination."

Diyanet also stated that Erbaş has no relationship with the group called "Kurişiler" or the leader of this group.

The institution announced that legal proceedings would be initiated and a criminal complaint would be filed due to the baseless claims and slanders.
