Eyes on that date for a Cabinet reshuffle: A maximum of 3-4 ministers will change

The 8th Ordinary Congress process of the AKP, which suffered a defeat in the March 31 Local Elections and fell to the position of the second party in Turkey for the first time, has accelerated since it began on October 12. 63 out of 81 provincial congresses have been completed. The Youth Branch congress will be held on January 27, the Women's Branch on February 5, and the Grand Congress on February 23.

It has been learned that there is a high expectation for change at the headquarters level within the AKP following the defeat in the local elections. As reported by T24, while there is talk of a change reaching 60 or even 70 percent, party officials are of the opinion that while this expectation may be met to some extent in the MKYK (Central Decision and Administrative Board), there will not be the same level of change in the MYK (Central Executive Board) to be determined from among the new MKYK members.

While it is stated that some politicians who have been in the party's MYK for a very long time may not be given new roles, it has been claimed that at most 6-7 people may change in the 18-member MYK.

The period after the congress has also been pointed to for the long-discussed cabinet reshuffle. It was noted that the change in the cabinet could also be limited to a maximum of 3-4 ministries.
