Eylem Tok captured in the US... Murat Aci's father speaks to 12punto: 'Justice will be served'

Eylem Tok, who fled abroad with her son Timur Cihantimur—who caused the death of Oğuz Murat Aci while driving without a license—was captured in the US this evening.

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced the news. Making a statement on his social media account, Minister Tunç said, "According to the information we received today from US Department of Justice officials, Eylem Tok and Timur Cihantimur have been captured in the US within the scope of our extradition request. We are closely following the process as a ministry."

Oğuz Murat Aci's father, Özer Aci, whom 12Punto reached out to, said the following regarding Tok's capture:

"We asked for justice and proceeded on the right path. We walked with confident steps, and in the end, she will get what she deserves," he said.

Aci added the following in the continuation of his remarks:

I understand that the extradition procedures have begun. Time will tell. It makes no difference to us; whether they are arrested there or here, it does not matter.

At that moment, Aci was called by his daughter-in-law, who asked, "Did you get the news, father?" to which Özer Aci replied, "I did, my dear, I did." Şükriye Aci, the wife of the late Oğuz Murat Aci, remarked, "Thank God."

WHAT HAPPENED?

On March 1, 2024, at approximately 23:50 in Eyüpsultan, a car driven by 17-year-old T.C. struck individuals attempting to repair an ATV that had broken down on the side of the road, resulting in the death of Oğuz Murat Aci. Subsequently, his mother, Eylem Tok, smuggled her son T.C. first to Egypt and then to the US.
