Eylül Öztürk reacts to Veli Ağbaba's speech in Parliament: 'I watched in horror'
Eylül Öztürk, who appeared in the 'Champions League' photo with Dilan Polat—who was arrested on charges of money laundering and tax evasion—has reacted to the speech given by CHP Malatya MP Veli Ağbaba in Parliament regarding social media influencers.
Republican People's Party (CHP) Malatya MP Veli Ağbaba took the podium at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) with photos of influencers such as Dilan Polat, Engin Polat, Özlem Öz, Tayyar Öz, Nihal Candan, Bahar Candan, and Eylül Öztürk.
Stating, "You have brought dishonest people upon this country as a plague," Ağbaba said the following in his speech:
"To use the words of Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, 'Turkey has become a paradise for criminal organizations.' Who did this? Did we? People have lost hope in getting rich by working, producing, and exporting. What will they do? They have the examples you created: Tosuncuk, Toreks, Dilan-Engin, and Eylül. These have nothing to do with people like me; they are your political relatives. You created them. There isn't a single photo of a CHP member with them, but you have an album. What you have done could be a TV series or a movie. In the name of raising a 'pious generation,' you have brought scammers and dishonest people upon this country as a plague."
Eylül Öztürk, a beauty center owner who appeared in the photo dubbed the 'Champions League' alongside Dilan Polat—who was arrested along with her husband Engin Polat as part of an investigation into money laundering and tax evasion—reacted to Ağbaba's remarks.
REACTION FROM EYLÜL ÖZTÜRK: I WATCHED IN HORROR
In a post on her Instagram account, Öztürk, whose assets have been seized, stated: "Mr. Veli, I just watched your speech in horror. First of all, you mentioned my name and put my photo in the top right corner, saying 'these are scammers.' Who gives you the right to speak about me this way when there is no final court ruling? Secondly, I want you to prove exactly when I went on Umrah. Thirdly, as someone who has voted for the CHP before, I see that it is truly as they say. The CHP has ceased to be the party founded by Atatürk, and you are incapable of even doing research! You said there isn't a single photo of them with one of us; now, as I always do, I will speak with documents."
