It has emerged that Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor Barış Duman, who objected to the release of lawyer Feyza Altun under judicial control, is the cousin of Communications Director Fahrettin Altun.
An investigation was launched yesterday against lawyer Feyza Altun, who was targeted due to a social media post regarding Sharia, on charges of "inciting the public to hatred and hostility."
After being detained and referred to the courthouse with a request for arrest, Feyza Altun was released under judicial control following her testimony in court.
The Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office objected to Feyza Altun's release.

It has emerged that Chief Prosecutor Barış Duman, who objected to the decision regarding Altun, is the cousin of Communications Director Fahrettin Altun.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barış Duman, who was serving as the Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor of Bakırköy, was appointed as the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor with the decree published by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) on December 21, 2023.
