Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca announced that the number of people who lost their lives in the stubble fire that occurred in Diyarbakır and Mardin has risen to 12.
Minister Koca's statement is as follows;
"In the Hilvan district of Şanlıurfa, 7 people, 1 of them in critical condition, were injured in a fight involving stones, sticks, and weapons between two families with a long-standing feud. The incident occurred around 22:00 in the Yukarı Ekece neighborhood of the district. According to allegations, the argument that started between the two families due to a long-standing feud quickly escalated into a fight where stones, sticks, and weapons were used. Upon notification by those who witnessed the fight, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The 7 injured people were taken to Hilvan State Hospital and surrounding hospitals after the initial intervention at the scene. It was stated that the condition of 1 of the injured, who were taken under treatment in the emergency room, is critical. Gendarmerie teams closed the entrances and exits of the neighborhood to catch the suspects involved in the incident. An investigation has been launched into the incident."
Due to the fire that occurred in the nearby villages and neighborhoods of our two provinces, Diyarbakır and Mardin, the number of people who lost their lives has unfortunately risen to 12. 78 people were affected by the incident.
