Fake passport and ID operation in Istanbul: 13 detained!
An operation was carried out in Istanbul against suspects preparing fake passports, IDs, and driver's licenses for illegal immigrants and members of terrorist organizations.
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Anti-Migrant Smuggling and Border Gates Branch conducted an operation on 3 workshops in Kağıthane and Başakşehir.

According to DHA reports, the operation at the addresses where fake documents were produced resulted in the seizure of 5 thousand 258 fake IDs and driver's licenses belonging to 63 different countries, 1 thousand 282 fake passports prepared for 29 countries, 6 computers used for design, 4 printers, 2 thousand 800 lamination films, 16 document production machines, 20 thousand 730 Turkish Lira, 2 thousand 135 Euros, 2 thousand 800 Dollars, 160 Pounds, 100 Canadian Dollars, and various materials used in the production of fake documents.

13 suspects were also detained. Among the suspects are 3 foreign nationals who are experts in producing fake documents.

The 13 suspects detained as a result of the operation were taken to the police station and subsequently referred to the courthouse after their procedures were completed. While 4 of the 13 suspects were released under judicial control, 8 suspects were arrested and sent to prison. It was learned that one suspect was released to be tried without arrest. The thousands of fake documents seized during the operation were displayed at the Istanbul Police Headquarters.
