Famous hotel in that province temporarily closed following Kartalkaya tragedy
Following an inspection by municipal teams in Kartepe, Kocaeli, the Green Park Hotel has suspended operations after fire and disaster safety measures were found to be insufficient.
Following the hotel tragedy that occurred recently in Kartalkaya, Bolu, which resulted in the loss of 76 lives, hotel safety across Turkey has begun to be inspected more strictly. During inspections conducted by the Kartepe Municipality at hotels in the Kartepe region, where winter tourism is intense, significant deficiencies were identified in the safety standards of the Green Park Hotel.
Following the identification of these deficiencies, the hotel's accommodation services were suspended, and the acceptance of new guests was halted. It has been learned that the hotel management has begun work to address the deficiencies reported by the municipality. Furthermore, authorities have granted the hotel management a specific period of time to make the necessary improvements.

Municipal teams announced that they will conduct another inspection on Tuesday to check whether the hotel has been brought into compliance with the specified requirements. If the necessary conditions are met following the renovations and adjustments, the Green Park Hotel will be able to resume its operations.
