Famous Italian chef's son stabbed in the middle of a market! His condition is critical

A horrific incident occurred at a flea market in Kadıköy, Istanbul. 14-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi was the target of a blood-curdling attack. The young boy, son of famous Italian chef Andrea Minguzzi and cellist Yasemin Akıncılar, was subjected to a knife attack while shopping. STABBED WHILE SHOPPING

Minguzzi, who lives with his family in Beyoğlu and is an 8th-grade student at the Private Italian High School, went to the flea market set up at the Kadıköy Tuesday Market with his friends to buy skateboard parts. However, this ordinary shopping trip turned into a horrific attack.

Allegedly, a person at the market bumped into Minguzzi and catcalled him, saying, "You are very handsome." Upon Minguzzi's response of "Excuse me, brother," the attacker walked away a few meters, then returned with a knife in his hand and targeted the youth, saying, "Where am I your brother from?"

5 STAB WOUNDS

The attacker, B.B. (15), wounded Minguzzi 5 times in the chest with the knife in his hand. The other attacker present at the time, U.B. (16), kicked the youth who was left covered in blood on the ground. While the incident was captured moment by moment on the market's security cameras, the attackers fled the scene quickly before the tradesmen even had a chance to intervene.

A female doctor who was at the scene provided the first intervention to the unfortunate child. The doctor, who kept Minguzzi alive with heart massage and artificial respiration, kept the young boy holding onto life until the ambulance arrived. Minguzzi was taken to Göztepe City Hospital and admitted to intensive care.

CONDITION IS CRITICAL

A total of 9 units of blood were given to Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who underwent surgery. It was learned that the stab wounds damaged his lungs, kidneys, and heart, and that his life remains at risk. His family is asking for prayers for the young boy, whose treatment continues in intensive care.

ATTACKERS CAUGHT

Following the incident, teams from the Istanbul Public Security Branch Murder Bureau and the Kadıköy Public Security Bureau caught the attackers in a short time. It was determined that B.B., who carried out the attack, had one prior criminal record, and U.B. had two. After being handed over to the Juvenile Branch Directorate, the two suspects were arrested by the court they were brought before.

"MY GRANDSON WAS A BRIGHT CHILD"

The young boy's grandmother, Aynur Akıncılar, stated that she asked for help from Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu via social media on the day of the incident. Expressing that she is in shock over the incident, Akıncılar said, "My grandson was a bright child. He would not harm anyone. They had returned to Istanbul after staying in Malta for a year. He is a child who speaks three languages and holds dual citizenship. We are grateful to the people who helped him. We ask for prayers from everyone."

Famous Italian chef Andrea Minguzzi had emotional moments in his statement regarding his son's condition. "My son took money from his mother to buy skateboard parts. They set off for the market early in the morning. This incident is truly horrific. Our doctors are doing their best, but unfortunately, there is nothing we can do. We are entrusted to prayers and the doctors," he said.
