Famous whiskey brand enters and exits Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's adulteration list: Statement from company officials

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry began sharing the names of brands engaged in imitation and adulteration with the public on October 2.

Chivas Regal brand whiskey was also included in the list of Foods Endangering Health announced by the ministry on November 11, 2024.

In the Chivas Regal whiskey produced by the company named Pernod Ricard, "alcohol not permitted for use in food" and "low alcohol by volume" were detected.

The serial number of the Chivas Regal whiskey, which was examined in the alcoholic beverages category, was stated as LKWT2991.

REMOVED FROM THE LIST AFTER A WHILE

It was observed that the 'Chivas Regal' brand whiskey, which was on the list announced by the ministry, was removed from the list after a while.

It was observed that the Chivas Regal whiskey produced by Pernod Ricard was not present in the list dated 11.11.2024 on the ministry's website.

STATEMENT FROM THE COMPANY: WHISKEY PRODUCED BY COUNTERFEITERS

Speaking to Sözcü, company officials emphasized that the whiskey inspected by the ministry was a copycat whiskey produced by 'counterfeiters'.

The company stated that the legal process regarding this matter with the ministry is ongoing.
