Fan carves his admiration for Funda Arar into his field with a tractor

Atakan Şahin, a farmer in the Serik district of Antalya, began to harbor great admiration for Funda Arar after attending a concert about 10 years ago. Şahin, who has had the opportunity to meet Arar and take photos with her several times, most recently wrote Funda Arar's name into his field while plowing it with his tractor.

'I WANTED TO CREATE AWARENESS'

Stating that carving a name into a field was a quite challenging process, Atakan Şahin said, "My admiration began in 2015 when Funda Arar had a concert in Serik; that's where it started. I used to go to the places where she performed. Later, I wanted to create awareness by writing her name with my tractor to show this admiration. We wrote it carefully inside the field with the tractor. Although it looks easy, it is a difficult job to do."

'IT WILL LAST UNTIL MY LAST BREATH'

Stating that his admiration for the artist will last a lifetime, Şahin said, "This admiration of mine for Funda Arar will continue until my last breath. It took me 1 day to write it entirely with my own tractor and equipment. We first drew the sketch and planned it accordingly. I wrote it with the plow part of the tractor, and a photographer friend I know took shots with a drone, and something beautiful emerged. I wish Funda Arar and her family a healthy and long life from here. I send my greetings to her team members. God willing, this admiration of mine will continue for a lifetime," he stated.
