Fare dispute in a taxi in Fatih turns violent: The moments were captured on camera

In Fatih, Istanbul, a dispute between a taxi driver and passengers over the fare turned violent. It was determined that the taxi driver, I.H.K. (37), assaulted the passengers he had forced out of the vehicle in the Ayvansaray neighborhood.
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Fatih District Police Directorate launched an investigation following footage shared on social media on September 7. The investigation determined that the incident occurred on a street in the Ayvansaray neighborhood on September 6 at approximately 23:30.
The identified taxi driver was apprehended shortly thereafter. It was learned that in his statement, I.H.K. said he could not agree on the taxi fare with the people he picked up as customers and that the incident occurred following the argument.
The suspect was taken into custody on charges of "intentional injury." He is expected to be referred to the courthouse following processing at the police station.
In the footage captured by the dashcam, a scuffle can be seen between the passengers and the taxi driver, with one woman falling to the ground and the driver attacking the other passenger with punches and kicks. The remainder of the footage shows the driver getting into his taxi and driving away from the scene.
