Faruk Bildirici: 'I reported my unauthorized AKP membership registration to CİMER, but my membership has still not been deleted'

Media Ombudsman Faruk Bildirici, who discovered he had been registered as an AKP member without his knowledge, announced that he has filed complaints with the Ministry of Justice and the Personal Data Protection Authority via CİMER. Bildirici stated that he was contacted by the AKP Ankara Provincial and Headquarters offices, who told him that 'the membership registration was made by mistake and would be deleted,' but that his membership has not yet been removed. 

Making a statement via his social media account, Bildirici used the following expressions: 

"I have reported my unauthorized registration as an AKP member to the Ministry of Justice and the Personal Data Protection Authority via CİMER. How did these fraudsters access my personal data? This must be investigated.

Following my complaint, I was called by the AKP Ankara Provincial and Headquarters offices, and was told that "a mistake was made by accident during the telephone membership registration process and that my membership would be deleted." But it still hasn't been deleted. 

Furthermore, it is clear that people are being registered as members systematically and in large numbers. Those who want their memberships deleted at the AKP Etimesgut District office have formed a long list. 

The fake membership of so many people cannot be "by mistake." I will continue to pursue my complaints against this attack on my personal rights. I did not become a member, and I will not resign."
