Father of Oğuz Murat Acı calls out to Eylem Tok and her son

The investigation continues into the accident on March 1 at 23:50 on Davutpaşa Street in the Mithatpaşa neighborhood of Eyüpsultan district, where a vehicle driven by 17-year-old T.C. struck 3 ATVs waiting on the side of the road due to a breakdown, resulting in 1 death and 4 injuries.

Özer Acı, the father of Oğuz Acı who lost his life in the accident, told reporters at his home in Sarıyer that an eyewitness to the event stated, "Oğuz was a bit further down, I saw 7-8 people getting into a vehicle, I heard a woman's voice there, but since I was further down, I couldn't see her."

"THERE WAS NO WOMAN WITH US"

Stating that it is understood from this testimony that Eylem Tok came and picked up her son after the accident, Acı said, "She left our children there. She made an announcement to the public saying, 'We helped.'

But the eyewitness friend says, 'There was no woman with us; we first put our brother Oğuz into the ambulance, and after sending the other injured people in ambulances, I left the scene.'

If she helped, why didn't this eyewitness see her at the scene, hear any cry, any moan, any scream? All she did was call her son; she says her son called 112 or something similar," he expressed.

ALLEGATION THAT PHONES ARE MISSING

Claiming that the phones of some of the injured are missing, Acı said, "My son's phone was found 15 meters away from the accident site, and my son was already 8 meters down. However, two phones are missing. One of these missing phones was left with security and was later picked up," he said.

"I WANT OUR CHILD TO SURRENDER TO JUSTICE"

Regarding the statement Eylem Tok made through her lawyer, Acı noted the following:

"A real mother does not try to protect her child by smuggling him away. When my child died, she should have said, 'I wish my child had died instead.' I would never want him to die, but this is not about acting on instincts. Fear, or who would beat her child? Does she not trust justice? Does she not trust our law enforcement? Let her trust them; just as I trust them, she should too. If she doesn't trust them, let her hire security, let her protect him. Most of her statements are emotional... She says, 'I will surrender.' Wouldn't it have been better if she had surrendered before the arrest warrant was issued? He is also a child. I want our child to surrender to justice. I am calling out from here; come and surrender as soon as possible. As a mother, she is currently harming herself, her ex-husband, and her child. One cannot escape justice. Justice will surely be served."

"WE HAVE FILED A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT"

The family's lawyer, Burak Erden, stated that the deceased Oğuz Murat Acı had a 1.5-year-old child.

Stating that there are allegations that some phones went missing at the accident scene, Erden assessed, "Whether Eylem took them or not will become clear during the trial phase. We have filed a criminal complaint against both the mother and the child. We believe the mother has committed a crime related to tampering with evidence. Besides that, there is aiding and abetting, because she took him and smuggled him abroad within three to four hours. This will become clear in the coming days."

WHAT HAPPENED?

On March 1 in Eyüpsultan, one of three ATVs in traffic broke down, and while an attempt was being made to repair the broken-down vehicle pulled to the side of the road, one of two vehicles traveling in the same direction struck the 3 ATVs there.

Oğuz Murat Acı, I.G, T.A, S.K., and H.T., who were injured in the accident, were taken to the hospital. It was reported that Oğuz Murat Acı lost his life despite medical intervention, and that T.A. was in life-threatening condition.

During the investigation, it was determined that the 17-year-old driver, T.C., who caused the accident, fled the scene with his mother, Eylem Tok, who had arrived at the location, and that they went to Istanbul Airport around 02:00 and flew to Egypt around 04:30.
