Journalist Fatih Altaylı drew attention to the loss of value of the retiree bonus, which was increased to 3,000 lira, against the dollar compared to 2018, when the practice began.
"IT AMOUNTS TO 95 DOLLARS"
Altaylı said, "While the 1,000 TL allowance given to retirees just before the transition to the presidential system was worth 230 US dollars, the 3,000 TL allowance given in the 5th year of the transition to the presidential system amounts to only 95 dollars. That is less than a third, and this calculation does not even include dollar inflation. You gave the authority, you have seen the effect..."
President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's recent statement, "We increased the retiree pension from 66 lira to 10 thousand lira, from where to where..." had also drawn attention.
