Fatih Altaylı's 'a little common sense, a little journalism' outburst: I had no intention, but I was forced to
Journalist Fatih Altaylı, who was released from prison a short time ago after serving approximately seven months, reacted to an old article of his being brought back to the agenda.
Fatih Altaylı, who announced after his release that he would not be making news or commentary, especially regarding the political agenda, returned to the spotlight just days later with a statement regarding the Narin Güran murder.
Altaylı reacted to the fact that an article he wrote nearly two years ago was being presented as if it were new, following a report published on the Sözcü website with the headline: "Journalist Fatih Altaylı reacted to the words of AKP Diyarbakır MP Galip Ensarioğlu regarding the Narin Güran murder. Altaylı said, 'Why are prosecutors not taking Ensarioğlu's statement?'"
Reacting to the news report, which was presented as if it were a new response to AKP member Ensarioğlu's 2024 statement, Fatih Altaylı expressed his frustration with the following words:
"I had no intention of making a post on social media, but I was forced to. I haven't written anything in my column for over 7 months. However, the Sözcü website took an article I wrote nearly 2 years ago and used it as if I had written it yesterday. They removed it upon my warning. But dozens of internet news sites took it from there and used it. Friends, this is shameful. That article, which you think is new, is nearly 2 years old. A little common sense, a little journalism, please."
