Fatih Altaylı releases the final program he recorded with İlber Ortaylı: 'I couldn't watch it for crying...'
Renowned journalist Fatih Altaylı has released the final program featuring the late Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı, who passed away recently. Altaylı could not hide his emotions: "I couldn't watch it for crying. As long as these programs remain, the memory of my friend will live on."
Following the passing of historian Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı, journalist Fatih Altaylı shared their final Teke Tek Bilim program together on YouTube, reaching his fans. The famous journalist also expressed his longing for Ortaylı in a post on his social media account.
In his post, Altaylı stated, "My dear and precious İlber Ortaylı insisted that we do a program as soon as I got out of prison. This was the last program recorded with this dear friend of mine. I couldn't watch it for crying. My only consolation is that as long as these broadcasts remain, he will also live on," expressing that he could not hold back his tears.

At the beginning of the program, it was noted, "This is the last program we recorded with the legendary team of Teke Tek Bilim before Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı left us. With love, respect, and gratitude to the memory of our professor..." emphasizing the tribute to Ortaylı.
One of the highlights of the program was the question "What is friendship?" posed by Altaylı. Ortaylı replied to this question by saying, "What did his excellency Cicero say? Friendship is eternal. It is very rare, it is eternal."
Furthermore, Altaylı shared a memory he had with Ortaylı regarding his time in prison for the first time. Stating that the famous historian came to visit him in prison and that this visit created a festive atmosphere for everyone there, Altaylı noted that Ortaylı left a strong and positive impact on both the inmates and the staff.
