Fatih Altaylı's much-discussed commentary on the primary election and İmamoğlu: 'They showed how to ruin it...'

The Republican People's Party (CHP), which continues to call for early elections, will hold a primary election on March 23 to determine its presidential candidate.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has entered the primary election, which has become the focus of attention within the CHP, as the sole candidate.

İmamoğlu, who launched his election campaign as a prospective presidential candidate for the CHP, first met with citizens in İzmir.

As İmamoğlu continues his nationwide tours as part of his campaign, journalist Fatih Altaylı made striking comments regarding the primary election process.

Speaking on his own YouTube channel, Altaylı described the process of nominating İmamoğlu as a 'disgrace' and a 'public relations disaster.'

Emphasizing that the CHP has botched this process, Altaylı said, "It's a pity for İmamoğlu," adding, "They truly showed how to ruin a candidate announcement. Excuse my language. There is no other way to describe it."

Stating, "If they had tried to sell refrigerators or washing machines with this mindset, they wouldn't have been able to sell any," Altaylı commented, "But thank God the product is good. It is clear that the product will sell itself."

Altaylı's statements are as follows:

"If you ask me, the situation regarding İmamoğlu's nomination is a public relations disaster. It is a disgrace. Why? Is the CHP's candidate something unimportant?

The CHP botched the announcement of its own candidate. Was a primary election held? We don't know. They were supposed to ask the members. There is already only one candidate.

The announcement of a candidate should be done with a proper event. If you want to show off, you fill a stadium, you set up a stage...

If you don't want to show off, you organize a meeting at the party headquarters or anywhere in Ankara. You announce it there in a formal and stylish manner.
