Fatih Altaylı speaks out on his 'Well done' post

Fatih Altaylı, who is the subject of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has made his first statement following the 'well done' post he wrote and subsequently deleted.

"I AM TRYING TO SEE WHAT EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS"

Speaking about his post, Altaylı said, "When the events started to unfold, I said one thing: 'Well done.' Without writing any subject. In fact, a friend was with me when I wrote it. He said, 'Brother, whose work is well done?' I said, 'Let's see what everyone understands from this.' It could be 'well done' to the person who threw the punch, or 'well done' to those who caught the person who threw the punch. It could be anyone's. Suddenly, all sorts of people came out of the woodwork as if I were saying 'well done' to the person who threw the punch. However, I am not saying anything. I am trying to see what everyone understands from it," he stated.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In Istanbul, a citizen named İsmail Aydemir, who was returning from a march in support of Palestine carrying a Kelime-i Tevhid (Tawhid) flag, was subjected to a physical assault by an individual who shouted, "You are Arab lovers."

While the incident quickly became a trending topic, Fatih Altaylı made a post on the social media platform X, writing "well done" in reference to E.A., the person who threw the punch. 

Following the significant backlash his post received, Fatih Altaylı was forced to remove the post shortly thereafter.
