Fatih Altaylı speaks out on Sezgin Baran Korkmaz

Journalist Fatih Altaylı has announced that Sezgin Baran Korkmaz, who is subject to an arrest warrant and currently involved in ongoing legal proceedings, sent him a message requesting an interview.

Stating that he set conditions for Korkmaz, Altaylı said he told him, "If you disclose the names of the journalists with whom you have had financial relationships in Turkey and share with the public the names of the journalists and politicians you hosted at your hotel for months, we can meet."

Altaylı reported that Korkmaz replied, "I am ready to explain all of this and more in an interview with you."

Altaylı wrote, "On one hand, as a journalist, it would be an interview I would very much want. On the other hand, the matter is so dirty and filthy that I am hesitant, fearing that my own hands and feet might appear dirty. Even so, if I were sure he would make honest disclosures, I would risk everything, but I cannot be sure. Should I conduct this interview! The fact that he held this entire conversation in disappearing message mode does not fail to turn my stomach, either."
