Fatih Altaylı's assessment of 'separation of powers': 'Turkey has a 1+1 system'

Journalist Fatih Altaylı evaluated the question posed to him, "Is there a separation of powers in Turkey?" on his personal YouTube channel.

Altaylı stated the following:

'There is no separation of powers or anything like that in Turkey. There is a new system in Turkey called 1+1. President Tayyip Erdoğan plus Devlet Bahçeli. Whatever they say, that is what happens. In fact, sometimes what Devlet Bahçeli says can be even more valid. Currently, the most powerful politician is actually Devlet Bahçeli. Unfortunately, powers no longer exist in Turkey. It seems to sprout up as if remembering the old days. It is immediately struck down. Now it has descended upon the Constitutional Court. From time to time, it descends upon other courts. There has never been a real, strong separation of powers in Turkey anyway, but there has never been such a unity of powers either. Turkey is currently power. One flag, one nation, one state, one power.'
