Fatih Erbakan's support for Mansur Yavaş: The second-round detail
Yeniden Refah leader Fatih Erbakan stated that he would be his party's candidate in the first round of the presidential election, and that if they do not make it to the second round, one of the names they could support is Mansur Yavaş.
Speaking on journalist Nagehan Alçı's YouTube broadcast, Erbakan said that he would be his party's candidate in the first round of the presidential election, and that if they do not make it to the second round, one of the names they could support is Yavaş.
Touching upon the ongoing process regarding the imprisoned IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, Erbakan assessed that “His path to candidacy has been blocked in a sense.” Stating that İmamoğlu draws a strong profile in public opinion polls, Erbakan argued that the process cannot be evaluated independently of political influences.
Speaking about Mansur Yavaş as well, Erbakan suggested that a similar process might be being prepared for Yavaş.
“Preparations are being made regarding names seen to have a chance of success against Mr. Erdoğan in the polls,” said Erbakan, claiming that there is an attempt to push Yavaş out of politics as well.
Speaking clearly on the subject of presidential candidacy, Erbakan stated that the New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi) will enter the election with its own candidate and that preparations are continuing in this direction.
Erbakan added that one of the names they could support if they do not make it to the second round is Mansur Yavaş.
