Fatih Portakal claims 'CHP and DEM have reached an agreement in Istanbul'

Parties and alliances continue to announce their candidates. The most anticipated outcome of the March 31 election will be who wins Istanbul. 

The People's Alliance will nominate Murat Kurum, the CHP will nominate Ekrem İmamoğlu, the IYI Party will nominate Buğra Kavuncu, and the Felicity Party will nominate Birol Aydın.

In recent days, the statement by Başak Demirtaş, the wife of Selahattin Demirtaş, that "I could be a candidate for Istanbul" had also created a stir. Journalist Fatih Portakal shared a claim he received regarding Istanbul, stating that the CHP and DEM have reached an agreement on the city, and shared the prominent names involved.

Following the determination of the vast majority of candidates, polls have shown that the results in the Istanbul election are close to each other.

DEMIRTAŞ'S CANDIDACY STATEMENT

Within the DEM Party, the candidacy of Başak Demirtaş is being discussed. Demirtaş stated that she could be a candidate for Istanbul if her party deems it appropriate and has submitted her application. A statement from the DEM Party also indicated that Demirtaş's candidacy application is being evaluated.

STRIKING CLAIM

Journalist Fatih Portakal made a notable statement during a live broadcast. Relaying a rumor he received, Portakal shared the claim that the CHP and DEM have reached an agreement regarding Istanbul. 

Here are those words from Portakal:

"There are interesting messages coming in. One of the people I know says, 'The CHP and DEM have reached an agreement on Istanbul.' It is being seriously discussed that they have agreed on Gürsel Tekin in Esenyurt and Çetin Çapan in Çekmeköy. Of course, this could also be a claim. We will see; we will see all of this on Friday."
