Fatih Portakal cuts off Mahmut Tanal's speech, social media erupts
During the main news broadcast, Fatih Portakal, who connected to CHP's Mahmut Tanal while he was protesting in front of the Ministry of Justice, cut Tanal's speech short, citing time constraints. This incident, which was reflected on screen, was harshly criticized on social media and caused Fatih Portakal to trend on X.
CHP Şanlıurfa Deputy Mahmut Tanal began a 'Justice and Freedom Vigil' in front of the Ministry of Justice for the young people who were detained and arrested during the İmamoğlu protests.
Shortly after beginning his vigil, Tanal was subjected to police intervention and his tent was confiscated.
While Mahmut Tanal was connected to the SözcüTV main news broadcast to recount those moments, Fatih Portakal interrupted the deputy while he was speaking and warned him to conclude the interview.
