2 victims of the ‘Fatih Terim Fund’ speak out! Seçil Erzan’s audio recording emerges…

The case of former branch manager Seçil Erzan, who faces a demand for 226 years in prison for allegedly defrauding 18 people from the worlds of football and business with the promise of high returns, continues to remain on the agenda.

In the case, publicly known as the 'Fatih Terim Fund', the names of Arda Turan, Emre Belözoğlu, Fernando Muslera, Volkan Bahçekapılı, Buse Terim and Selçuk İnan, as well as numerous business people, are mentioned.

While new details about the case emerge every day, victims İnci and Bülent Çeviker have broken their silence.

"ERZAN SAID, 'DO NOT TELL THE ADVISOR'"

Speaking to Sözcü columnist İsmail Saymaz, the Çeviker couple said, “Erzan said, ‘Specifically, do not tell the advisor. They are unaware of this fund. It is a separate department at the bank.' I asked Erzan, ‘How many people are on the team, I want to meet them.' She calls, her accomplice answers, and says, ‘He is busy.' She always puts us off like this.”

Explaining that Erzan prepared a simple handwritten document for 2.2 million dollars, stamped and signed it, and gave it to them, the Çeviker couple stated that this paper indicated they would receive 2,765,700 dollars after 25 days, on March 10, 2023, meaning exactly 550 thousand dollars in interest. The couple said that for this handwritten document, Erzan told them, “It has not been made into a standard form in bank requests. It is only recorded on my computer. We do not provide it as an official document, we provide it for informational purposes.”

"SHE KEPT SAYING 'YOU ARE UPSETTING YOURSELVES FOR NOTHING'"

Stating that she stalled them until March 31, İnci Çeviker said, “She swore. She was saying, ‘I have a career, would I put myself at risk? You will get your money.' She was making up something different every day. She would hold Bülent’s hand to calm him down, saying, ‘You are upsetting yourselves for nothing.'”

The Çeviker couple explained that Erzan stalled them with phrases like “The money hasn't hit the account,” or “It’s stuck in the holding account,” and that the fake document she prepared stated that 3 million dollars would be paid to the Çeviker couple on April 3.

HOW DID THE INCIDENT COME TO LIGHT?

“Erzan took that money from us to give to others. She used the bank's name to defraud us,” said Bülent Çeviker, describing the day the incident was uncovered:

“I called Erzan. Her phone was off. I called the branch. They said, ‘She is on leave.' I sent my wife to the prosecutor's office, and I went to the general directorate. The bank had no idea. I said, ‘Seçil took our money, she is nowhere to be found, she is going to flee abroad.' They were in shock.”

The audio recording obtained by the Çeviker couple, who suspected they were being defrauded, on the day Erzan came to their home is as follows:

İnci Çeviker: This was your customers' fund. After that, it ended, right?

Erzan: The transaction is finished, they closed it.

İnci Çeviker: Where did we enter?

Erzan: They extended that transaction. That transaction is continuing.

Çeviker: So the Coach (referring to Fatih Terim) continued as well. Is that right?

Erzan: He continued too, of course…

İnci Çeviker: Are we going to get the money?

Erzan: Of course you will get it. There is no risk whatsoever that you won't get the money. Be at ease.

Bülent Çeviker: The figure won't change, 5,000,000 dollars. Will you give us a new paper?

Erzan: I will, of course. I will write the balance under the existing paper and sign it.

Bülent Çeviker: Can we get an official document?

Erzan: Our document is more valuable than that. That is what we call an official document anyway. But if we enter that before the transaction maturity ends, it will be questioned why we are getting that much profit.

Bülent Çeviker: If it is questioned, my name and ID number are written on it, right?

Erzan: They are written. But we are in a secret name code within the transaction. That is why it cannot be queried.
