Serdar Çelik, who killed his ex-girlfriend during an argument in the Karşıyaka district of İzmir, committed suicide with the same weapon. It was learned that Çelik was wanted for robbery and had a long criminal record.
Femicides in Turkey show no signs of stopping.
According to the information received, Serdal Çelik (29) went to the home of his ex-girlfriend Berrin Yılmaz (32), located on 6170 Street in the Demirköprü neighborhood of İzmir's Karşıyaka district.
During an argument at the house, Çelik killed Yılmaz with a handgun and then committed suicide with the same weapon.
Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
The bodies were taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy following the investigation at the scene.
It was stated that Yılmaz's 17-year-old daughter, B.M., was also in the house at the time of the incident.
HE WAS WANTED
It was learned that Serdal Çelik was wanted for the crime of "robbery by multiple persons at night" and also had numerous records for "intentional injury," "threats," "insult," and "theft."
