Femicide in Mersin
In Tarsus, Mersin, Murat Biçer, who had served 24 years in prison for murder and was released eight months ago, killed his seven-month pregnant wife, Serap Biçer.
According to AA, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene following a report that Biçer was beating his wife, Serap Biçer, at their detached house in Bolatlı Neighborhood.
Upon entering the address, the teams determined that the woman, who had been struck on the head with an iron rod, had lost her life. Following the investigation, the body of the mother of three was taken to the Tarsus State Hospital morgue.
It was learned that the suspect, who fled the house taking his five-year-old grandchild with him, left the child with a relative in Yenice Neighborhood.
It was determined that Biçer had been convicted of robbery and murder and was released last year. It was learned that the murder suspect has surrendered to the police station.
