Fernas Mining workers to march to the ministry on the 50th day of their resistance!
Fernas Mining workers faced a police blockade when they attempted to march to the Ministry of Energy on the 50th day of their ongoing resistance. The workers, who state they were dismissed for joining a union, are fighting for their rights. The obstruction of the march has further fueled the miners' reaction.
The resistance of Fernas Mining workers, who were dismissed after joining the Independent Mine Workers Union in the Soma district of Manisa, continues. The miners, who have been resisting for 50 days, want to march from Kurtuluş Park to the Ministry of Energy.
The protests, which began when all miners working at the mine stopped work following the dismissal of three miners on August 19 for joining the union, have reached Ankara from Manisa over the past 50 days.
The miners, who have been keeping watch barefoot in Kurtuluş Park since October 2, attempted to march from the park to Parliament on October 10, but were met with police blockades once again.
Despite all the pressure and obstacles, the miners, who have continued their watch in Kurtuluş Park following their time in Soma, will complete the 50th day of their resistance today.
