FETÖ link in MOSSAD information leak operation

Among the members of the cell dismantled by the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) for international espionage activities—specifically for allegedly selling information to the Israeli foreign intelligence service MOSSAD—are İsmail Kaya, who was dismissed from the police force due to his membership in the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ/PDY), and the cell's ringleader, former Police Chief Hamza Turhan Ayberk, as well as Mehmet Yetimova, an active civil servant at the Istanbul Tax Office. It is not yet known whether the cell, captured for international espionage, managed to access the secrets of their target individuals.

MİT and the Istanbul Police Intelligence Branch and Counter-Terrorism teams have exposed an 8-person spy network wanted for allegedly leaking information they obtained to the Israeli foreign intelligence service MOSSAD.

Following the investigation, the operation was launched this morning. Seven out of the 8 individuals wanted for allegedly selling information to MOSSAD and identified as being involved in international espionage activities were captured and taken into custody. While it was learned that one suspect is on the run, striking details regarding the operation have emerged.

WHICH SECRETS DID THE FETÖ MEMBER LEAK TO MOSSAD?

Among the suspects is the ringleader of the cell, former police chief Hamza Turhan Ayberk. It was learned that Ayberk, who was also involved in threats, harassment, and stalking, had a key FETÖ/PDY member in the team he established. The dismissed police officer and FETÖ/PDY member, who stands out as the most critical figure after the cell's leader, former Police Chief Hamza Turhan Ayberk, was caught during the operation conducted by MİT and police intelligence with 4.5 kilograms of cocaine and a precision scale used in drug trafficking. It was determined that one of the individuals in the captured cell, Mehmet Yetimova, is a civil servant working at the Istanbul Tax Office. Also within the international espionage network accused of leaking information to MOSSAD for money is Ö.Ş., who was dismissed from the police force due to an investigation opened against him for sexual abuse. In addition to retired police officer E.K., it was noted that Ö.B.G., who reportedly resigned from the police force, private security guard Funda K., and Hakan K., who was dismissed from the police force for bribery, were among the individuals involved in the aforementioned espionage activities.

TRAINING WAS PROVIDED BY MOSSAD AGENTS IN BELGRADE

It was reported that Hamza Turhan Ayberk, the leader of the cell who was found to have made posts in favor of Palestine against Israeli attacks on social media platforms, was the person who established contact with an Israeli agent codenamed "Victoria" at the MOSSAD headquarters in Tel Aviv. It is understood that Ayberk was directed by the MOSSAD agent codenamed Victoria. While it was documented that Hamza Turhan Ayberk, who is stated to work as a private investigator, leaked information about Palestinian individuals and organizations to Israeli intelligence in exchange for money, it was learned that Ayberk also compiled information about other Middle Eastern-origin individuals and companies living in Turkey upon the instructions he received.

It was noted that Ayberk, who reportedly received training from MOSSAD in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, in 2019, was initially used by the Israeli secret service for simple tasks referred to as "bait." It was determined that while Hamza Turhan Ayberk used secret communication applications under MOSSAD's direction, he received payments in cryptocurrency to avoid leaving a trace in official records.

It is not yet known whether the cell working for Israel managed to access the secrets of their target individuals.

It was learned that Ayberk, who was involved in threats and stalking in addition to leaking information to MOSSAD, transmitted the real-time locations of his targets to MOSSAD using tracking devices he placed on their vehicles, harassed these individuals, and made threats from time to time.

MİT had exposed 8 people spying for the Israeli intelligence service MOSSAD, identified the information regarding the spy network one by one, and pushed the button for the operation this morning. Seven of the 8 people were captured in the operation. It is not yet known whether the 7 suspects, who were wanted for allegedly selling information to the Israeli foreign intelligence service MOSSAD and were captured due to international espionage activities, managed to access the secrets of their target individuals.
