FETÖ operation in 22 provinces: 128 suspects apprehended, 51 arrested
In simultaneous operations coordinated by the Gendarmerie and public prosecutor's offices, 128 suspects were apprehended; 51 were arrested.
Simultaneous operations were conducted against FETÖ in 22 provinces under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command's Counter-Terrorism Department and the offices of the Chief Public Prosecutor.
128 suspects were apprehended in the operations. While 51 of the suspects were arrested by the court they were brought before, judicial control measures were imposed on 14 individuals. It was reported that judicial proceedings for the other suspects are ongoing.
It was stated that the operations were carried out in Adana, Aksaray, Ankara, Antalya, Artvin, Aydın, Bursa, Diyarbakır, Edirne, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Giresun, Isparta, İstanbul, İzmir, Kırıkkale, Konya, Kütahya, Mersin, Sinop, Tokat, and Trabzon.
In the investigations conducted, it was alleged that the suspects were active within the organization's current structure, were in contact with organizational officials, provided financing to so-called aid organizations stated to be affiliated with the organization, and engaged in propaganda via social media.
A large number of organizational documents and digital materials were seized during the searches. It was learned that the examination of the seized materials is continuing.
