Within these 1.5 months, after obtaining a health report and paying the necessary fees, you can make an appointment with the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs, and the new license is mailed to the provided address in a short time. Since a license exchange is being performed, a document is provided for the period without a license in between, which serves as a valid license for 1 month. Once the new license is delivered, the temporary document can be destroyed.

HOW LONG ARE THE RENEWED LICENSES VALID?

The validity period for renewed driver's licenses is set at 10 years. However, for certain license classes, it has been set at 5 years.

The C1 class for trucks and tractors up to 7500 kg, C1E class for trucks and tractors up to 12000 kg, C class for trucks and tractors, CE class for trucks and tractors with trailers, D1 class for minibuses, D1E class for minibuses with trailers, D class for minibuses and buses, and DE class for minibuses and buses with trailers are valid for 5 years. The M class for mopeds, A1 class for motorcycles not exceeding 11 kW, A2 class for motorcycles not exceeding 35 kW, A class for motorcycles exceeding 35 kW, B1 class for 4-wheeled motorcycles, B class for automobiles and light trucks, BE class for automobiles and light trucks with trailers, F class for tractors, and G class for construction machinery are valid for 10 years with the new license.

Driving without a license carries a fine of 12,978 TL; driving while one's license is suspended carries a fine of 12,978 TL; driving while one's license is revoked carries a fine of 12,978 TL; driving a vehicle outside of one's license class carries a fine of 6,440 TL; driving with an expired license carries a fine of 2,610 TL; and driving with licenses from different countries without complying with the time limits and restrictions set by regulation is subject to a fine of 2,610 TL.
