Final warning to businesses: Establishments without this report will be shut down
Businesses with deficiencies in fire safety have been given a deadline. Establishments that fail to complete their fire department report by the specified date will face license revocation and closure.
With a new regulation published in the Official Gazette, changes have been made to the regulation regarding Business Opening and Operating Licenses. With this amendment, a temporary Article 9 has been added to the existing legislation.
Within the scope of the regulation, inspections will be carried out in workplaces that are required to obtain a fire department report and are subject to the Regulation on the Protection of Buildings from Fire, in order to identify and rectify deficiencies related to fire safety.
These businesses have been granted until May 31, 2026, to complete the necessary construction and renovations, finalize the procurement of structures and materials, and obtain the fire department report.
Following the specified date, the business opening and operating licenses of establishments that fail to submit a fire department report will be revoked. Businesses whose licenses are revoked will be forced to cease operations.
While the regulation entered into force on the day it was published in the Official Gazette, it was stated that the authority regarding its implementation will be exercised by the President.
