Dilan Polat, Engin Polat, Sıla Doğu and their associates were arrested and sent to prison for money laundering.

The testimony given by Zümrüt Yerebakan, a financial advisor working for the Polat couple's lawyer Ahmet Gün, as part of the investigation has been obtained.

Yerebakan became a whistleblower by handing over all the documents and information she possessed to the police on a CD. Yerebakan stated that fake invoices worth over 1 billion liras were issued.

SHE EXPLAINED THE SYSTEM IN DETAIL

Zümrüt Yerebakan also explained in detail the system established by lawyer Ahmet Gün to launder the Polats' dirty money.

To introduce the dirty money into the system, companies were first transferred to foreigners; after the transfer procedures were completed, empty tax returns were filed for a few months, and then, by filing a stock amnesty declaration, fake invoices were issued by these companies to a company belonging to the Polats.

THE AMOUNT OF INVOICES ISSUED IS OVER 1 BILLION LIRAS

According to the report in Sabah, while the amount of invoices issued by Gün appeared as 300 million liras in the MASAK report, Yerebakan stated that this amount was over 1 billion liras.

Explaining that Gün threatened her not to testify against him, Yerebakan also said that she received instructions on how to give her testimony.
