Fines imposed on white meat producers!

The Competition Authority had decided to launch an investigation into 10 companies in late January to determine whether they had violated the relevant article of the Law on the Protection of Competition. In the time that has passed, the Competition Authority conducted work regarding the allegations against the giants of the white meat sector. Following the work carried out, the investigation into 4 companies was concluded after 4 months. Competition Authority President Birol Küle announced that separate investigations were opened into the companies.

Following the initiation of the investigation, 4 companies admitted to violating the relevant article of the Law on the Protection of Competition. The companies applied to the Competition Authority for a settlement. After the settlement was reached, the Competition Authority imposed a total administrative fine of 1.2 billion Turkish Lira on the 4 companies.

On the other hand, Competition Authority President Birol Küle touched upon the other companies under investigation. Stating that there are companies whose settlement processes are ongoing, Küle underlined that the fines could increase.
