Fire at TUSAŞ engine factory in Eskişehir under control
The fire that broke out at the TUSAŞ Engine Industries (TEI) facilities in Eskişehir has been brought under control following the intervention of emergency teams. Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün emphasized that there was no loss of life in the incident, while cooling operations continue within the facility.
A fire broke out for reasons yet to be determined at the TEI facilities operating in the Esentepe neighborhood of Eskişehir.
Teams responded rapidly on the ground to the flames, which were allegedly sparked by an explosion in an energy source in the manufacturing section and the ignition of flammable materials.
Following the report, factory employees were safely evacuated, and fire department, AFAD, ESGAZ, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Two teams from the 1st Main Jet Base Command of the Air Force Command also provided ground support for the extinguishing operation. Eskişehir Governor Dr. Erdinç Yılmaz arrived at the scene to receive information from officials.
Cooling operations continue inside the facility
It was stated that there was no need for any aerial intervention after the flames were brought under control. Teams are continuing their work within the factory, focusing on cooling and smoke extraction.
"Critical projects will proceed without interruption"
Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün made the following statement on his social media account:
"The fire that occurred at our TEI campus in Eskişehir has been brought under control as a result of the dedicated efforts of our relevant teams. Our greatest consolation is that there has been no loss of life. Cooling operations and technical investigations regarding the cause of the incident are being carried out by the relevant units."
Stating that national projects will not be disrupted, Görgün continued his statement as follows:
"Our TEI family, which carries years of effort and engineering expertise, is one of the most valuable assets of our country's national technology journey. We will leave this process behind with the same discipline and will rapidly take steps to ensure that critical projects proceed without interruption. I wish a speedy recovery to our entire defense industry ecosystem, especially our TEI family."
The exact cause of the fire will become clear following the technical investigations being conducted within the facility.
