The fire broke out at a paint factory in the Mimar Sinan neighborhood, located on the Istanbul-Kocaeli border. Smoke rising from the single-story paint factory quickly covered the sky.

TEAMS ARRIVED FROM SURROUNDING PROVINCES
Fire crews from Kocaeli and surrounding districts were dispatched to the scene. The teams brought the fire under control and extinguished it after a 1-hour intervention. A portion of the factory was rendered unusable in the fire.
The fire was captured from the air by drone.
Speaking about the fire, a factory official said, "We were working in the factory and saw the smoke. We didn't know it was our own facility. It spread very quickly. It was being used as a warehouse. There were bathroom accessories, stones, and so on inside," they said.
