A fire broke out off the coast of Şile on a 62-meter-long ship sailing from Kumkapı to Zonguldak. The General Directorate of Coastal Safety dispatched the Kurtarma-12 tugboat and the KEGM-5 fast rescue boat to the scene to intervene.

Upon receiving the fire report, the General Directorate of Coastal Safety quickly dispatched intervention teams to the scene. The statement said, "Our Kurtarma-12 tugboat and KEGM-5 fast rescue boat have been urgently directed to the scene."
It was reported that the fire started in the engine room of the ship and that teams have quickly begun efforts to bring the fire under control. Coastal Safety officials announced that there was no loss of life or injury on the ship and that the crew is safe. Furthermore, it was stated that cooling efforts are continuing to prevent the fire from spreading.
