Fire disaster grows in Çanakkale; homes and cars in Güzelyalı consumed by flames
Çanakkale, which was struggling with a fire disaster until a short time ago, is now battling a new fire before it could even heal the wounds of the previous ones. The fire, which is spreading very rapidly due to the wind, has led to the evacuation of citizens in Güzelyalı.
Çanakkale is experiencing a living hell due to a fire that has spiraled out of control under the influence of the wind; even cars on the roadside have burned down because of the fire, which has descended into residential areas and cannot be stopped.
While citizens in Güzelyalı are being evacuated due to the fire, images coming from the region have revealed the scale of the disaster.
It can be seen that trees and houses have been surrendered to the fire, and vehicles on the roadside are also burning.
Footage also captured firefighting aircraft sent to the region continuing their efforts.

EVACUATION STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR
According to the latest statement made by Çanakkale Governor Ömer Toraman regarding the fire, the villages of Güzelyalı, Halileli, and Erenköy have been evacuated.
The fire started in agricultural land in the town of Kepez around 13:30. The flames grew with the effect of the wind and spread to the forest area. Upon notification, numerous teams affiliated with the Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the scene. Teams are intervening in the fire from both the air and the ground.
Çanakkale Governor Ömer Toraman announced in his statement that after the villages of Güzelyalı and Halileli, Erenköy was also evacuated as a precautionary measure.
