Fire in İstinyePark shopping mall parking garage extinguished

The fire occurred in the evening hours in the parking garage of İstinyePark Shopping Center, located in Sarıyer.

A vehicle in the parking garage began to burn for an unknown reason. While the fire was extinguished with the intervention of citizens, smoke filled the interior of the mall.

Upon notification, fire and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While citizens were evacuated from the shopping center, the events were captured on a mobile phone camera.

The fire was brought under control in a short time by citizens and security guards, while fire crews carried out cooling operations.

Following smoke evacuation and cooling efforts, citizens began to be allowed back into the shopping center. There were no deaths or injuries in the fire, while the SUV sustained material damage.

STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

The statement made by the Istanbul Governor's Office is as follows:

"On 20.04.2024, at approximately 20:50, a fire broke out in the parking section of İstinyePark Shopping Center, located in Pınar Neighborhood of Sarıyer District. The fire was extinguished by mall staff, and there were no deaths or injuries in the incident.

The scene has been checked by fire department teams, and the cause of the fire will be determined after the fire department's investigation.
