Fire in Aydos Forest in Pendik, Istanbul: Brought under control
Firefighting teams intervened in a fire that broke out in a wooded area in Pendik. Smoke rising from the Aydos Forest in Pendik was captured from the air by drone. The Istanbul Governor's Office announced in a statement that the fire has been brought under control.
A fire broke out for an as-yet-undetermined reason in the Aydos Forest in Istanbul's Pendik district.
Upon notification, numerous firefighting teams were dispatched to the scene.
The teams' intervention in the fire is ongoing.
Meanwhile, a firefighting helicopter is also supporting the aerial suppression efforts.

STATEMENT FROM THE GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF FORESTRY
The General Directorate of Forestry reported that the fire in Aydos Forest was being intervened with both aerial and ground support.

4 HECTARES OF FOREST LAND AFFECTED
In a written press statement regarding the fire that broke out in the Aydos Forest in Pendik, the Istanbul Governor's Office stated that the fire was responded to with 78 teams and 159 personnel, and added, “4 hectares of forest land have been affected by the fire” it was stated.
The statement from the Istanbul Governor's Office continued, "The forest fire that broke out in Aydos Forest has been brought under control, and cooling efforts by the teams are ongoing."
