Fire in Menteşe, Muğla has been burning for 20 hours
Efforts to extinguish the forest fire that broke out near the village of Sarnıç in Menteşe, Muğla, on Saturday, September 7, at approximately 12:50 PM, continued throughout the night.
As the forest fire that started near the village of Sarnıç in Menteşe, Muğla, continued throughout the night, aerial intervention intensified with the break of dawn.
General Director of Forestry Bekir Karacabey coordinated the teams responding to the fire on-site alongside Deputy General Director Kenan Akduman and Regional Director Mustafa Ülküdür. While teams continued their battle against the flames throughout the night, aerial support was intensified as daylight broke in the morning.
Muğla Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık, who is in the fire zone and monitoring operations from the coordination center, received information regarding the extinguishing efforts from General Director of Forestry Bekir Karacabey. Extinguishing efforts in the region are continuing by air and land.
